Project: Thrift Store Renovations & Energy Efficiency Upgrades
Location: Saugus, MA

Long time repeat client The Salvation Army, came to Nadeau Corporation in need of a  6 phase renovation for their 31 year old building in Saugus, MA.  The work included new tile floors, ceilings, 4 new dressing rooms, check-out kiosks, a bright new paint job, ceiling fans, sprinklers, and new energy efficient lighting. While construction was in progress, customers continued flooding the store. Nadeau broke it into 6 sections to accommodate and minimize disruptions.  The team was able to fast track the project and complete 1.5 months ahead of schedule so that the store could enjoy the busy November to Christmas shopping season without a construction team’s presence looming around. 15% electrical savings were achieved through the new efficient lighting consisting of 70 new lights.

About the Client

Along with the retail space, this facility in Saugus, Ma is home to one of four major Salvation Army distribution centers for New England. 47,000 square feet of warehouse space is attached to the store and it’s used for collecting donations, processing the items, and shipping them out to a designated territory that stretches as far North as Manchester, NH.

Project: Weidemann Court Housing Development

This project included demolition and new construction for 4 single family units for the Newport Housing Authority. Weidemann Court is a development offering four single family dwellings in a multi-phased residential development in the Newport, RI. These units are offered as a Rent-to-Own program. The project was designed to be a model of sustainable development, from energy efficient building envelopes and mechanical systems, to site development and drainage. This was funded by a HUD Replacement Housing Funds Program.

About the Client

The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Newport, Rhode Island is to provide decent, safe, sanitary, affordable housing, and to promote home ownership, economic development, and economic self-sufficiency for public housing residents and a living environment free from discrimination and crime.

Project Description

Project: Attleboro Commuter Rail Station
Location: Attleboro, MA
Year Completed: 2009

The scope of Attleboro Train Station/Commuter Rail project included renovations to the interior and maintenance of the exterior. This project involved work within a public building that was occupied on a regular basis and Nadeau Corp. had to provide strict safety monitoring for protection of railroad traffic property and general public users. It was also a multi disciplines project including selective demolition, cast in place concrete, masonry repair and re-pointing, metal railing, rough and finished carpentry, clay roof tile replacement, sealant work, panel wood doors and frames, drywall, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, painting, and toilet partitions along with plumbing and mechanical work.

About the Client

This commuter rail station on the MBTA’s Providence/Stoughton Line, is located in Attleboro, Massachusetts. By a 2013 count, Attleboro had 1,665 daily riders, making it the sixth busiest station on the system.

Project: Bismore Park Visitor Center
Location: Barnstable, MA
Year Completed: 2008

The Bismore Park Visitor Center involved the construction of a new 1 story public visitor center in the town of Hyannis, Massachusetts. The Bismore Park Renovations Project was critical to providing recreation improvements for the growing urban population of downtown Hyannis. Together with Studio 3.0 Architecture, Nadeau’s construction included a wood framed welcome center with a harbormasters office, an open deck and public restroom facilities. The completed building acts as a warm welcome to summer tourists and visitors of Hyannis, Massachusetts.

About the Client

Strategically located at the geographic center of the Cape with proximity to public transportation and a working harbor, downtown Hyannis presents an ideal place for smart growth where residents can live, work and play. The Town’s goals included redeveloping parcels and outdated buildings along Hyannis Harbor and providing new waterfront recreational opportunities for Barnstable citizens.

Project: US Dept of Fish and Wildlife Welcome Center
Location: Newburyport, MA
Year Completed: 2010

Nadeau Corporation designed and constructed a new Visitor Contact Station (VCS) at the Parker River National Wild life Refuge in Newburyport, Mass. with design build partner Vision 3 architects. The new 1,600 s.f. Visitor Welcome Center serves as the first stop, and first impression, for arriving visitors, and is designed as a signature facility for U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. The goal was to create a warm and inviting facility for the visiting public as well as for staff and volunteers. The design incorporates several sustainable design features, including a solar hot water system for radiant floor heating and photo voltaic system to provide electricity.

About the Client

Located along the northeast coast of Massachusetts, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1941 to provide feeding, resting, and nesting habitat for migratory birds. In addition to its mission of wildlife conservation, the refuge provides a variety of excellent wildlife-dependent recreational activities, including surf fishing, wildlife observation and photography.

Banna Memorial Fire Station

Project Description

Project: Banna Memorial Fire Station- Town of Seekonk
Location: Seekonk, MA
Year Completed: 2014
Project Manager: David D’Angelo

This project consisted of a complete demolition of the old fire station and replacing it with a new 2 story station that would allow for 24 hour emergency service to the Seekonk area. The new station was needed to serve the town’s north end, and reduce emergency response time. The town committee decided to go with a modular, prefabricated building to expand the fire station to allow for a favorable budget and construction schedule. Nadeau constructed the modular Fire sub-station consisting of a modular two-floor living quarters and an attached apparatus bay. We included a training facility for the firefighters on the ground level. After overcoming numerous challenges, Nadeau’s team was able to deliver the new station so the heroes that inhabit it could get back to better serving the townspeople and keeping the public safe.

About the Client

The previous Banna Fire Station was a 74-year-old building named for firefighter Richard Banna, who died in the line of duty in 1977.  Prior to the project, Fire Chief Alan Jack said the current response time was unacceptable for the town of Seekonk, MA.
