Project: Senior Center Addition and Renovation
Location: Duxbury, MA

This expansion project consisted of renovating 1,530 sf to existing west side of ground floor, adding a new 1,800 sf ground floor addition to west side of building, a new 1,180sf 2nd floor classroom addition to existing second floor, and a new 1,000 sf second floor exterior deck. This two-story addition will provide much needed additional exercise, meeting, and classroom space. The new spaces will be used for the lifelong learning program, fitness classes, other health and education programs, and the social day care program for people with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.
About the Client
The Duxbury Senior Center is where seniors come together for services and activities. The center also serves as a resource for the entire community for information on senior services, nutrition and transportation programs, support for family caregivers, training of professionals and students, and for developing innovative approaches to addressing aging issues.
